This is one of the best free tools you can use to do frequent checks on your stocks...

The Yahoo! Finance site is probably the most widely-used stock quote provider and portfolio tracking site available today on the net.

Setting up your Yahoo! account and using this free tool offers you several benefits:
  • It's free.

  • Track price and date.
It allows you to enter the price that day (or the actual price you paid, and trading date) to track changes since that date.

  • Enter Notes.
It has a field you can use for "Notes" - to enter what you wish your target price to be.

  • View Multiple Stocks.
It keeps all your current stocks together so that you can see their current details, all together, at any time.

  • Multiple Information "Views".
You can use the pre-formatted Basic (name and price), DayWatch (just that day's information), Performance (since your purchase date), and Fundamentals (including key stats and charts).  But you also can create customized views to display only the information you want (via simple drop-down selections).

  • Ability to link to your online broker's site and your real portfolio.
